DIPLOMATS' PRIVATE SCHOOLS BILL TOPS £13M TO BRITISH TAXPAYER

TAXPAYERS forked out more than £13million to send British diplomats’ children to private schools last year.


The bill for officers serving overseas was £5.8m, with £7.4m spent on UK-based staff, official figures show.


Foreign Office minister Alistair Burt said: “Diplomatic staff pay UK tax wherever they work and are entitled to have children educated at public expense.”
