ABOVE: Christopher Taylor was convicted of cruelty and murder and sentenced to life in jail
“
You showed more concern for the introduction into your home of two dogs than you did for Ryan’s care

TWO evil baby- sitters who battered a three-year-old to death in their squalid bedsit have been jailed for life.

Ryal Lovell-Hancox suffered 75 separate injuries during almost a month of horrific torture.

Kayley Boleyn, 19, and her alcoholic boyfriend Christopher Taylor, 25, hurled him against walls, locked him in a cupboard and rubbed his face into the carpet.

The pair who were convicted of cruelty and murder in March, were being paid £40 a week to look after Ryan by his struggling single mum Amy Hancox, 21 – Boleyn’s cousin.

Boleyn and Taylor lived at Boleyn’s social services-funded bedsit in Bilston, Wolverhampton.

They took Ryan to hospital on Christmas Eve 2008, suffering from a brain haemorrhage.

Medics called in police, saying his injuries looked like those seen in a car crash.

Yesterday at Wolverhampton Crown Court Justice Julia Macur said: “You showed more concern for the introduction into your home of two dogs than you did for Ryan’s care.”

She sentenced Taylor to a minimum of 15 years and Boleyn a minimum of 13.

In a statement Ryan’s mum and dad, John Lovell, 24, said: “We don’t believe they should ever be released. Life should mean life.”
