REVIEW - AMY MACDONALD: A CURIOUS LIFE

ABOVE: Review - Amy MacDonald: A Curious Life
8th March 2010

By Sarah-Louise James

GLASGOW gal Amy MacDonald sold 3 million copies of her last album This Is The Life.

It went to Number 1 in five countries.

That's a lot to live up to. But the plucky lass doesn't sound fazed.

In fact her galloping guitar pop-rock and husky Celtic voice combo sounds richer, bigger and more confident than on her monster debut.

She's always been a down to earth lass and on No Roots she philosophises: “This life I lead, it’s a curious thing/ but I can’t deny the happiness it brings."

She still seems rather nonplussed by the whole popstar thing, however, as you'll hear on wry album highlight This Pretty Face.
